Refacing quote tool
The refacing quote tool was built specifically for Kitchen Solvers to help quote refacing jobs. See detailed instructions on how to use the tool below.
On the home page of the Skipp portal, click on the Quick Estimate button in the upper righthand corner of the page:
Select either Nothern Contours (Refacing Only) or WalzCraft (Refacing Only):
Just like any project, you'll be prompted to select a design palette. This will be a starting point for your design. Once you select a palette, you'll be prompted to enter details about the project:
You'll land in the project workspace, which will be filled out with materials based on your design palette. You can customize all of the cabinetry, hardware, surfaces (countertop, backsplash, flooring), sink and faucet for your design. Click here for instructions.
Be sure to save your changes before opening the worksheet. You'll need to save any time you make a change to your materials, in order to see the price update.
Hit the save button at the top of the page (or the cancel button to remove your changes).
Click on the Refacing Worksheet link in the upper righthand corner of the screen:
Once you click the link, the worksheet will open in a new window.
Fill out all of the sections that are applicable to your project. Here are some tips for each section:
- Cabinet doors and cabinet drawers: Select the class (i.e. type of cabinet - wall, base, accent, island), then fill in the dimensions and quantity.
- Plywood finished ends and custom plywood panels: Select the class (i.e. type of cabinet - wall, base, accent, island), then fill in dimensions and quantity where applicable. As a reminder, do not change the cells in grey.
- Cabinet face frame and bottom material: Select whether to include certain framing materials. As a reminder, do not change the cells in grey.
- Custom refacing material and valance refacing material: Select the class (i.e. type of cabinet - wall, base, accent, island), then fill in the dimensions and quantity.
- Moldings and toekicks: Select the class (i.e. type of cabinet - wall, base, accent, island), select the type of material, and quantity.
- Hardware: This will be pre-filled based on the materials you selected in the Skipp portal. Select your option from a dropdown.
- Roll outs: If using roll outs, enter the dimensions and quantity for each roll out and pilaster.
- Refacing labor hours: Enter the quantity of any custom work you'll need to do, meaning the number of cabinets you'll need to perform this custom work on (ex: modify 2 cabinet door openings, remove center mullions on 1 cabinet, etc.). You can also input any additional labor hours under "Material/Other".
- Franchisee rates: Adjust the labor factor based on your business and enter your hourly rate for labor.
Important notes:
- Enter information into the orange cells only. Do not edit any of the grey cells.
- Make sure to fill out the entire row of orange cells.
- Dimensions are all in inches.
- Only numbers can be input to blank cells (no text or symbols).
Once you've finished updating the worksheet, go back to the Skipp portal. Click on the Import Worksheet button.
You'll see the prices for cabinetry, cabinet accessories, and labor update in the portal:
You'll see the price for surfaces has not changed. In order to update this price, use the project layout section on the lefthand side of your screen. There are two steps:
- Select the layout that most accurately represents your project.
- Edit the linear footage number based on the linear footage of cabinetry in your project.
You can also include flooring by toggling the Include Flooring section to "Yes", then you'll enter the square footage of the space.
You can edit your price quote before sharing with a homeowner by removing or hiding line items, or adding markups and discounts. Click here for instructions.
Click on the eye icon to preview your quote, or click on the share icon to copy a link to share with the homeowner.
When previewing the quote, you can print the quote by clicking on the printer icon at the top of the page.
Simply make your edits in the worksheet, then click Import Worksheet again.
Click on Reset Worksheet at the top of the page.
The best way to do this is to create two separate projects for the same kitchen, so you can save your changes and compare them.
You will need to create a new project in Skipp in order to make this work.
